                                                            May 11, 2013

JoAnn's is allowing me to teach a new Key West Quilts original pattern in July!  I am so pleased to introduce the Plaid Magic Table Runner.

This table runner starts as four-patches that
gets sliced and diced to form the plaid  blocks.  Then
those blocks get sliced again, turned on point  and framed to create a beautiful table runner.

Magic, pure and simple!

                                                            February 8, 2013

Tomorrow, February 9th is  JoAnn's Open House with half-price-class-sign-up.    I will be at JoAnn's from 1pm to 3pm with samples of my new classes.  I am really excited about them!  I hope you will come by and take a look.

The Easter Egg table runner is great fun!  You are the "egg decorator extraordinaire," and there are no rules and no calories!

The next month, we are invading the jewelry world with the Topiary Wall hanging where you will learn to embellish your quilt with sparkling beads.

The Tablet Softwear project, not only creates a useful cover for your i-Pad or Kindle, but you will learn to transfer quilting designs to your project and use your home sewing machine to quilt the layers together (without having to free-motion quilt).

The Clip and Strip Pillow class gives you another opportunity to use those fabulous jelly roll strips, skip most of the cutting, and get right to the sewing!

A schedule of my classes for February, March, and April along with pictures of all the classes I am offering is linked here.   You can sign up for any of these classes for half price this Saturday (with the exception of the quilt social, but that one is only  $15.00 anyway).

Two exciting things happening right now.

    1)  My Long Arm Quilting Machine is up and running and I am quilting for others now!

    2)  I am publishing my Row-by Row quilt online as a BOM (block of the month).  Each block/row is available free  on line for four weeks.  Even if you can't join me for the quilting social at JoAnn's, you can quilt along with us!

Good news!

I am teaching again!  I am taking advantage of the current economic slow down and doing what I really love to do -- QUILTING!

I am now teaching private lessons in Pinellas County (Florida) to people who want to learn to quilt, but don't (yet) feel comfortable enrolling in traditional classes.  If you are interested, I hope you will give me a call (727)741-4722.

I am also returning to the custom made quilt business.  I have really missed creating special memory quilts for my clients and I am very exciting about getting back into this specialty business.  Please check out the gallery button on the left for examples of one-of-a-kind memory quilts created for some very special people.

There are several venues for teaching in Florida so keep checking my Teaching Schedule for a class offered near you.  Hope to see you in one of my classes soon!

Happy Quilting in 2009,
Mary

                                           February 16. 2009 Update

Yippee!!!

This weekend I finished my Santa Claus Quilt top.  The quilt is based on a pattern by Nancy Hieronymus Barrett (with some revisions by yours truly).

I began this quilt in 2005 along with several friends in my St. Josephs quilting group in Gulfport, Mississippi.  Quite a few of the blocks were completed and hanging on the design wall in my quilting room when Hurricane Katrina hit.  The blocks hanging down low had to be trashed after the water rose inside our house.  The ones up high were packed up for safekeeping and have moved over 3000 miles to three different homes since 2005.

Yesterday, the final borders went on. The extra wide backing was washed and pressed, so it is ready to mail off to be quilted.  Hurrah!!

One down, ten or twelve more UFO's (unfinished objects) to go!!
